Sustainability
Aggregates and cement are long-lived, local businesses. Our reporting covers the things that decide whether a quarry is welcome in its community for the next fifty years: carbon intensity, water, land, and the safety of the people who work there.
Figures as reported in the 2025 Sustainability Report. Metrics are not audited unless stated in that report.
Lower-carbon cement formulations, alternative fuels at both cement plants, water recirculation across the quarry network, and progressive reclamation with a bonded closure plan for every active site.
A single safety management system across all operations, near-miss reporting with no-fault escalation, craft apprenticeship programmes, and annual pay-equity review overseen by the Compensation and Human Capital Committee.
The Safety, Health and Environment Committee of the Board oversees environmental compliance, reclamation obligations, climate-related risk and sustainability reporting, and reports to the full Board at each regular meeting.
